on Wed Feb 07, 2018 3:32 am
Bottlecap and his friends come across a club one day on the bad side of their own. It's a place for illegal gambling. The end up cheating and being taken to the owner a demon dog named Akumu. He owns the mafia that runs the town and isn't too pleased to hear that the cup and his friends have cheated. Now on the run, they must escape from the mafia and figure out a way to save their town from the evil crime group. Will they be able to? Time can only tell.

Topshooter swallowed thickly as he looked up at the large building he, Bottlecap, and Pemble stood in front of. The yellow cup didn't like the vibe he was getting from this place and they hadn't even gone inside. There was a reason Beaker and Chalice warned them to stay away from this part of the island. This was were all the bad toons liked to hang out. Crime lords and gangs loved to hang around here and that was why their grandma and grandpa forbid them to come. Leave it to the purple cup to defy their elders' wishes and go anyway. The elder brother had gone to make sure his little sibling didn't get into anything too dangerous and he had even dragged the dog toon with them! Honestly, Topshooter wondered how Pemble could still hang out with them with all the dangerous situations Bottlecap often put them through, but he was thankful for it regardless.

The young cup toon was snapped out of his train of thoughts when he noticed his brother walking into the club. With the feeling of dread hanging over him like a storm cloud trying to drag him down, the older of the brothers quickly hurried in after him before he could loose sight of his baby brother. He had a sinking feeling that he was going to regret this in the long run.

With crossed arms and a skeptical look, Pemble studied the building before him and his two friends. The young pup let out a quiet sigh, he wasn't entirely certain why he tagged along this time; it was clear that Bottlecap would never lead them to a safe enough or less annoying place, but yet he still voluntarily went with him and Topshooter to any place he wanted.

Grumbling slightly Pemble reluctantly followed the two cups inside the club; hopefully he doesn't find anything interesting to do in here he thought as he glared forward. Whatever lay before the three friends, he had already decided that it at least wasn't worth his time and energy.

Inside the building, it appeared much bigger than it had on the outside. The sound of music could be heard coming from the left where there was a stage with some folks sitting around it watching a show that was going on. On the right, there was a row of tables that had toons sitting around them as they played different sorts of games. In the center of both sides, there was a bar with some people sitting at the counter, drinking their drink.

Before the three friends could go much further, a rather tall figure appeared before them, seemingly out of nowhere. It appeared to be a cat with blue-gray fur dressed whacky pink suit. There were pink stripes at his ears that were almost like devil horns. He had a pink bow tie that had black spots on them and black-and-white fancy looking shoes. He had yellow eyes with black slits. There was a wide smile on his face that never seemed to waver. Topshooter moved closer to his brother, an uneasy feeling about this feline.

The cat leaned down so he could get a better view of the children that had wandered into the club. "Well, what have we here? What are kids like you doin' in a place like this?"

"We're here ta play a game!" Bottlecap replied to the stranger, ignoring his brother's tug on his arm, trying to pull him away from the dapper suited feline.

"Well, I do believe I can help with that. Right this way fellas."

"I have a bad feeling about this..." Topshooter muttered as he followed after his little brother and the cat.

Pemble shot the strange cat a look of suspicion as he spoke and began to lead the trio to the right place, something was off about him and he found himself dreading his presence more than any other person's in this place. As they followed the young dog walked slower than the two cups, wanting to keep his distance from the odd character.

"I hope he doesn't get caught up in these games, we shouldn't be here..." he muttered to himself under his breath. Still feeling uneasy he took it upon himself to look around to find out where the nearest exits were in case they needed to escape if something were to happen, to his dismay there was only one and given the number of creatures in this place it seemed like it would be a chore to get to if a panic should arise. Despite feeling disturbed of there not being more than one, he felt a little relieved that there was one at least making things feel a little more normal to him.

Re: Bottlecap

The green cup glanced behind him to see if Pemble was still following them. He slowed down enough to allow the canine to catch up to him so he wouldn't have to walk alone. As worried as he was about his brother, Topshooter wasn't going to just leave his friend behind. Bottlecap wouldn't do anything too reckless right away. Or so he hoped.

He just barely caught wind of what the puppy had spoken to himself. There was great relief in the elder toon at his friend's words. So he wasn't the only one that didn't want to be here. He wasn't the only one that knew that they shouldn't have stepped for inside this place. It wasn't meant for kids after all. Why would this cat allow children in here? Wasn't he going to get into trouble for it by his boss?

Or maybe, he is the boss, the eldest of the three thought as he glanced back at his brother and the blue-gray cat. He looks like someone who'd be in charge of a place like this.

Topshooter tried to ignore the stares he and his friends were getting by the adults at the club. He could hear shushed whispers about them as they were taken to a table to play a game of cards. The boy kept his gaze to the ground, not wanting to look any of the elder cartoons in the eye. He wasn't going to lie, he was frightened of them.

"Here we are. Take a seat and have some fun." The dapper cat fixed his tie as he grinned down at the children. Though that was a bit hard to tell since he was always smiling.

Bottlecap rubbed his hands together. "Alright, this'll be fun!"

"Just one game, right Cap? Then we can go home, right?"

"Sure, Top, one game. Then we can go. Promise."

The elder brother had a feeling he wasn't going to be keeping that promise.

The puppy frowned as he listened to Bottlecap, "yeah sure," he muttered as he took a seat and looked around the club a bit more. His eyes rested on the two singers on stage as they began to wrap up their performance; they were two felines--though he didn't find that surprising--the white female had a kind and gentle expression, something he surely would have never expected in a place like this.

His gaze moved on from the first feline to the second, an orange and white tom with a look that he seemed to think was captivating to any woman he happened to spot and grin charmingly at. Definitely, the kind of sleazy individual one would see here.

As their segment ended Pemble found himself uninterested in studying anyone else, with a quiet sigh of frustration he turned to Topshooter. "Nothing but a bunch of crooks in here..." he whispered to the uneasy looking cup.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Having ended their performance Velvet contemplated on whether or not she wanted to sit at the bar or at one of the small tables that were there near the stage, she had made a habit of choosing to spend her break time out in the open instead of backstage with her colleague who made it difficult to even relax. Yet on occasions, the tom would come talk to her, regardless of where she sat.
Before she could settle on a decision she spotted a group of children on the far end of the club, children? At the gambling tables? her bewildered mind couldn't quite understand why anyone would let them in, or why they would even want to be here in the first place. Feeling a sense of concern for their well being, the she-cat took it upon herself to approach them and at at least convince them to leave before they got hurt.
The green cup shifted slightly on his feet, a nervous look on his face as he glanced up at Pemble. Topshooter couldn't help but agree with the puppy. There were nothing but crooks in this club. He didn't like the vibes he was getting from this club. He rubbed his arm as he swallowed thickly. He wanted to leave this place as quickly as he could. But he wasn't going to leave his friend or brother behind. He'd feel like a terrible brother if he did that.
"Y-Yeah..." he agreed softly. "Lots of crooks here. I don't like it, Pemble."
He looked up as he spotted what looked like a feline coming towards the table where they were at. It was a she-cat with white fur. She seemed concerned as she looked at them. Who was this?
Pemble was about to say something when he too caught sight of the she-cat that he had once seen on stage, he gave her a look of skepticism even though she looked like she couldn't even harm a fly.
"What do you want lady?" he asked rather rudely.
Velvet was taken aback at the tone of this young pup's voice, and despite feeling a little nervous from the hostility she still retained her concern and elegant demeanor. "How old are you three?" she asked as she took a chair from a nearby table and sat in front of the two kids facing her.
Re: Bottlecap
This she-cat was so unlike the others at this casino. She seemed much more nicer than the others and didn't have a bad vibe that Topshooter got from the blue-gray cat in the pink suit or anyone else he had seen up until now. He was a bit surprised by the rather rude ton that Pemble had given off as he questioned her. Though he couldn't blame him for being a bit hostile. They had no idea if this cat was friendly or hid her ill intentions behind her kind behavior.
Still, he found it a bit strange that the first thing the feline said to them was to see how old they were. He knew that kids weren't supposed to be here and was still dumbfounded that they were allowed to come inside. He thought they would have been kicked out long ago.
Regardless, he didn't see any harm in telling her how old they were.
"I'm twelve, miss. My friend here is eleven. My brother--" He nodded to the purple cup that was too busy in his game to speak with the newcomer, though he did glance over to see who Topshooter and Pemble with speaking with. He offered a quick nod in greeting before turning his full attention back to the game to finish it up real fast, just barely catching the last part of what his sibling said. "--is ten."
"Are your parents here somewhere? I mean children like you really shouldn't be in here without parental supervision at the very least," she said looking around to see if there was anyone here who resembled at least the two brothers. She grew disappointed as she didn't see anyone who met her expectations, but she remained positive that they were somewhere around here, even if it was rather irresponsible for them to leave their children alone in place like this.
Re: Bottlecap
Topshooter twiddled with his thumbs at the she-cats words. He felt a small sting as she brought up the word parents. He had never known his birth parents. If anything, his grandparents were more like actual parents to him and Bottlecap. The green cup still wondered what could have happened to them. They had disappeared without a trace one day, so his little four-year-old memory told him; that was when Beaker and Chalice came into his life and began taking care of them.
"O-Our grandparents don't know we're h-here," he responded softly, dropping his gaze to stare down at his shoes. His straw slide to the front side of his head as he looked down at the ground. Surprisingly, the milk inside didn't begin to drip or pour out of his cup. He didn't know why he felt bad about trying to lie to a stranger, but maybe it was the way his elders had taught him to be. Honest and polite, something his little brother lacked most often. "We came here without permission..."
By this point, Bottlecap had finished up with his game and spun around in his chair, turning his attention on the conversion going on currently. He cast a sideways glance at the grinning cat and he scowled at him with a light huff. He'd get him back for that game in a little bit. He wasn't about to lose to that cat!
She felt bad for the guilty looking cup before her, but she knew she should attempt to convince them to leave.
"I appreciate your honesty, but you three shouldn't be here..."
Pemble had remained silent for most of this conversation, and while he still scowled at Velvet he found himself agreeing with her as well as willing to put her trust within her. "You're right, but it's his fault," he said, pointing at Bottlecap.
The white cat frowned, "it doesn't matter whose fault it is, you three really should go before you get hurt. This is no place for children. If you want I can escort you to the exit so no one tries anything.
The young puppy found himself turning his attention to Topshooter, expecting him to make the decision himself. As he waited, he hoped that the green cup would make the decision himself and skip asking for his brother's opinion all together.
The purple cup rolled his eyes as Pemble jabbed a finger at him. He shrugged it off like he normally did. He was used to get blamed for the dangerous things they got into. Mostly 'cause nine out of ten times it was his fault to begin with.
Bottlecap watched as his older brother tapped his two pointer fingers together. The green cup was never once that worked the greatest being put on the spot like this. He was always so nervous being the center of attention, and he couldn't help but wonder why.
"W-Well, Cap did say o-one game and I think h-he's done now. So we can g-go."
"We can't go just yet. I need to beat this smug ass cat!"
Topshooter jerked his head up to look at his sibling, still sitting in the chair. "But you said that-"
"I know what I said, Toppy. But I gotta do this! I refuse to allow him ta beat me!"
The elder preteen frowned, looking back at Pemble for help. Before the puppy could even speak, the pink suited cat walked over and hung an arm over the cup's shoulder.
"Where's the rush? If the kid wants to play some more, allow him to play," the cat spoke and Topshooter ducked out of his hold and hid behind his canine friend, peaking out at the feline with a low whine. He didn't want to be anywhere near him. The cat turned his yellow gaze up at Velvet. "Don't you have another show coming up soon, darling? Aren't you performing with Treats and Trix? Wouldn't want to be late now would we?"
Pemble growled slightly at both Bottelcap and the strange feline that had first greeted them upon the time they had entered, the both of them seemed equally insufferable at this moment in time. As their host turned his attention to the nice she-cat, he looked at her as well with the same expectant look that he gave Topshooter, surely she can get us out of this he thought hopefully as she seemed quite determined on getting them out of this club.
The white cat felt herself growing nervous under her boss's gaze, he was right she was going to have to go back to the stage and perform another song but she couldn't just give up now, "I think Binx could handle that...I wouldn't mind helping these kids out, I-I mean they're not supposed to be in a place like this anyway..." she murmured rather quietly looking down at the ground to try and prevent herself from caving under pressure.
Feeling disappointed by her timid nature Pemble scowled, "aw jeez lady if I knew you were gonna half-ass helping us out of this I would have just told you to get lost myself."
Topshooter's eyes widened as he looked at Pemble in shock. "Pemble, don't be mean! She's trying her best to help us!" he pointed out to the pup. "Cut her some slack with you? At least she cares enough to get us out of here...." He wanted to say more, but held his tongue with the smiling cat looming over them.
Bottlecap was tapping his fingers against the table as he watched everything go on. "So I can continue?"
The grinning feline turned his golden gaze back to him. "You may, child."
"Awesome! I'm goin' to win this time!"
"You keep telling yourself that, boy." Odd Cat looked back at the white she-cat that was trying so hard to get the children to leave the club. "The children will be fine. You don't need to worry so much about them. We wouldn't allow them in here if they weren't welcomed, sweetie."
"Mean? Look at her, she's like a freaking mouse now that some creep is talkin' sweet to her!" the puppy found it hard not to raise his voice at this point, "what power does he even have over her?"
Even though she knew that she should answer that question for clarity Velvet was finding it difficult to even pay attention to the mean comments the supposed child was spouting. She looked up slightly trying to figure out what she should say next, she had never quite been argumentive with any kind of authority figure even if the consequences wouldn't be too harsh. "Will you at least ask them to leave after this next game?"
"He won't ever hold to that!" Pemble gave one last exclamation before throwing his hands in the air and walking away from the situation in frustration, with a huff the dog sat down angrily at an empty table that was still in sight of the commotion he no longer wanted to be a part of. "Useless..."
The green cup let out a whimper as he watched Pemble leave him alone with the two felines and his brother. "M-Maybe he's her boss?" Topshooter suggested as he scrambled after the puppy toon. "That would explain why she's so nervous all of a sudden? I mean look at him! He looks like someone that would run this place!"
"That all depends if the little purple cup wants to leave. Who am I to deny someone the chance to play if they so chose, Velvet?"
"So what? She wouldn't have to worry, I mean they have other singers and such so what does it matter to her," he said looking at the green cup, "honestly why can't we just ever stay home?"
As he continued to speak to her she gradually began to believe that she wouldn't be able to win this, he could talk his way out of any situation no matter how difficult it seemed and this was exactly what he was doing now. She fidgeted slightly and looked up at him fully now, still feeling anxious.
"They're children though..." she said under her breath before speaking up, "perhaps we should ask him before we do anything, but I still think it would be in his and his friend's best interest if you kindly asked them to leave. You know the kind of people that show up in this place..."
"I-I dunno, Pemble... That cat in the pink suit is awful scary... Maybe there's something we don't know about him?" he told him as he hopped up next to the canine. "...I dunno about you, but I can't just let Bottlecap run off by himself. I'd never forgive myself if I allowed my little brother to get here and knowing I could have done something if I had only been there. I worry about him, y'know? ...Why do you tag along with us?"
Odd Cat gave a dismissive wave at the other feline, doing his best not to roll his eyes at her comment. "That's their own fault for wandering in here," he told her. "If they get hurt, that's on them."
The dog crossed his arms defensively at the cup's question, "why does that matter? It's not important to what's happening," he said refusing to actually say that he considered the two of them his friends despite one being annoying. "Anyway, I'm sure he wouldn't go anywhere without you, to begin with so he would just stay home as well."
That comment infuriated her, but she bit back whatever lame insult she had thought of. She needed this job, it was something she did enjoy doing--even if she had to work with Binx--and saying something mean to her employer would only ruin the future career this job could potentially lead to. Velvet sighed irritably and turned around.
"Fine," she said as she stomped off back towards the stage, after that remark she would be glad to be with anyone besides Odd Cat at the moment. She shot a glare at the grinning feline from afar hoping that he wouldn't notice it before she quickly ducked backstage to prepare for the next performance.
Pemble seemed amused at the sight of Velvet finally getting riled up, it was always funny to him seeing someone so calm become so angry in less than a second yet never doing anything to harm the other person let alone hurt their feelings. "Even when she's mad she's a friggin' pansy."
