Re: Untitled: The Game (Campfire)

on Sat Jul 14, 2018 12:00 am
Name: Gustav Moreno, also known as the “Prince of Death” or occasionally Torchy/Torch (Mainly called Torch or Torchy by Winslow)

Age: 36-years-old

Species: Silver Fox (though his fur his completely black, while the tip of his tail is pure white).

Gender: Male

History: Gustav had always been a dark child, usually preferring to keep to himself rather than associate with any other children. Though, it would seem that the other children preferred not to associate with him either; he was known to have a nasty temper, not really expressing it in outbursts of emotion but rather in extreme violence and showing no remorse for the one he was attacking.

This was discovered when a fellow child had decided it would be fun to try and mess around with him, bully him. When did so it was when the two were in class, and rather than ignoring the annoying brat Gustav simply grabbed his pencil and stabbed it into the boy's hand with full force, when he was distracted and crying in pain the fox proceeded to knock him down and beat him with whatever blunt object he could get his hands on. He was sent to a psychiatric ward for that sudden show in aggression, but he seemed to show no signs of insanity when the doctors examined him; this was most likely due to how clever he seemed to be, being on his best behavior was a smart move and got him out soon enough without having to take drastic measures.

After that incident, however, no one seemed to really want to speak with him at all, but that was fine with him.

A few years later he was arrested as an arson suspect, to make a long story short someone had apparently looked at him the wrong way while he was visiting their house with a relative of his. When they left, Gustav came back during the night, broke in and covered the floor and whatever else with gasoline and set the place ablaze.

Word got out to Cervino Family, and they bailed him out, later hiring him to be Ms. Swanson's enforcer for her business. He takes care of the dirty work if any should be late on a payment to her or the Cervinos, if they haven't made their quota for the day/week, or if one of the clients should do anything to displease the Cervinos or Beverly they will have to answer to him.

Personality: Gustav has never quite grown out of the dark personality that he had when he was a kid, nor does he really wish to explain to anyone why he's so morbid and serious all the time. He can be quite cynical and pessimistic when one speaks to him, and that usually turns people away which is what he intends to do.

He cares only to do his job and has no time for sentiment or anything like that, truly believing that paying attention to one's emotions would only prevent someone for every truly completing their job especially one like his. Gustav keeps his friends far away, and his enemies even further, emotionally that is but he seems to have some sort of liking for Beverly; it's never quite clear what he feels towards her, but she is the only one to have ever had legitimate conversations with him.

Re: Untitled: The Game (Campfire)

Name: Winslow Atkinson, also known as Slick

Age: 24-years-old

Species: Skunk

Gender: Male

History: Winslow had always been quite the salesman, though he was cheap and often sold things that weren't worth as much as he claimed or weren't as exciting as he made it out to be he still managed to make a name for himself around his neighborhood. Even as a young kid, he was cheating other kids out of their more valuable items in exchange for whatever his family could afford to buy him at the time.

Growing older, he starting cheating people out of money this time rather than just trying to get a shiny new watch. With whatever money he could scrape together, he would pay a few local criminals to steal expensive items or—if they were skilled enough—he would convince them to make duplicates of more valuable items so he could sell them out on the streets.

Of course, selling to the wrong people could get someone like him in heaps of trouble and it eventually did. Winslow had made the mistake of selling a phony watch to one of the members of the Cervino Family. Originally they had planned to kill him, but the skunk was able to talk his way out of it, earning him the nickname “Slick” because of his smooth and sometimes cool demeanor. Instead of killing him, they hired him for Beverly, making him the one who makes the deals and transactions with whatever moonshiners are in the area and are willing to sell.

Personality: Winslow is quite the fast-talker, and one of the best negotiators the Cervinos had ever had the good fortune of finding. He'll talk his way out of anything, pegging him as the manipulative and clever type. He has a genuine interest in people so long as they don't get in his way of making some cash for himself, or money for others who would otherwise have his head on a platter; but he seems to have a habit of appealing to most people's good sides upon the first impression, that is if he hasn't annoyed them yet when he speaks.

And those who seem to stick around him, usually always end up in trouble. He can't go anywhere without meeting someone that he's upset, there are plenty of people other than the Cervinos that were and still are looking to kill him making sort of a hazard to his friend's health and safety.

Re: Untitled: The Game (Campfire)

on Sat Jul 14, 2018 12:02 am
Name: Giovanni Cervino

Age: 20-years-old

Gender: Male

Species: Wolf

Appearance:

History: There isn't much to tell about Giovanni's history, other than the fact that he was born into the infamous mafia crime family, the Cervinos. And so far he's been working hard and is currently being groomed to take his father's place as the don in their family.

Personality: Giovanni takes after his father mostly, he means mostly business and will take absolutely no nonsense from anyone especially if he's already given them a second chance at doing something like redeeming themselves. But despite being like his father he seems to have a bit more compassion than him, he's more than willing to give second chances and upon ruining the second one instead of having that person killed he will do something more along the lines of having their legs broken or having their place of business shot up and completely ruined.

Though he doesn't immediately jump to killing, if the person who had a second chance still doesn't get the message after he's dealt with them he can become quite ruthless. There have been times where he's been asked to give orders where problems like this have occurred, and he's had the habit of emotionally torturing his victims by having their family killed slowly in front of them or he's had them killed in violent and often messy ways, which is ironic for him. The wolf would rather avoid the second option, considering he doesn't like messes and cleans up well because of it; he can be considered somewhat of a neat freak and likes to keep things organized and orderly.

But underneath all that he can be quite the gentleman and has been known to be pleasant with those he does get along with, which can be very few.

Re: Untitled: The Game (Campfire)

on Sat Jul 14, 2018 12:02 am
Name: York Sawyer

Age: 18-years-old

Species: Cat

Gender: Male

Personality: York is extremely shy, he doesn't like speaking much to anyone because he fears of what they might think of them or he just finds social interaction to be terrifying in general. This leads him to be quite the nervous wreck, leading him to be clumsy and to be prone to panic attacks during situations that are particularly stressful.

He dislikes being or seeming rude to others, so he tries to watch what he says but there are times where he often gets ahead of himself and says something that sounds rather off-putting to him. He doesn't like confrontation and will do everything in his power to avoid it.

He seems to be something of a pushover, allowing others to sometimes talk him into doing things he knows he shouldn't be doing or isn't very comfortable with doing. Because of this, he seems to get mixed into a lot of troublesome situations.

History: No one really knows how York ended up working with the Cervinos, in fact, he's not even sure how that even happened and has chalked it up to his bad luck with being mixed into all sorts of trouble when he least expects it.

However, when he did start working for them, the Cervinos decided that he was too scrawny to do much of anything else that would require some skill or physical attributes so they appointed him to be the assistant bartender for The Silver Spoon.

Re: Untitled: The Game (Campfire)

on Sat Jul 14, 2018 12:03 am
Name: April Collett

Age: 17-years-old

Species: Abyssinian (cat)

Gender: Female

Personality: April is a rather energetic girl, she is generally happy but loves when interesting or dangerous things happen usually and if they haven't happened yet she has a habit of trying to stick her nose in everyone else's business or trying to start something like a fight of sorts whenever she is feeling bored.

Because of her energy, she is a rather chatty feline, and doesn't exactly have an “off-button” for that, no matter what subject she has an opinion on it and will proceed to tell you about it. Though, she tends to get distracted easily, causing her to sometimes go completely off-topic and stay on whatever subject she trailed off to before finally realizing that that wasn't what she was originally talking about; in a situation like that though it's rare for her to go back to the previous subject and apologize, normally she will just shrug and continue on with her rambling.

History: April doesn't have much of a history, she was raised normally and lived a normal life. She has little to no history with the Cervinos other than the fact that she knows of them and knows that her employer is technically part of the infamous crime family but they weren't the ones to hire her directly and she almost takes no part in gin running or anything that has to do with what The Silver Spoon actually deals in.

Beverly only knew April because she knew her father, and when she wanted to start up The Silver Spoon she needed someone fairly normal and friendly to run the bakery part of it so things wouldn't be suspicious. She offered this job to April, who had baking experience and didn't mind being a clerk and well needless to say Beverly was the one who decided to hire the young feline and pay out of her own pocket to keep her on.

Re: Untitled: The Game (Campfire)

on Sat Jul 14, 2018 12:03 am
Name: Clarence “Copycat” Jones

Age: 18-years-old

Species: Havanna Brown (cat)

Gender: Male

History: Clarence has had a rather dull childhood, he lived somewhere else before moving somewhere more excitable though by the age of 14 he had become somewhat of a vagabond and has passed through many places by various forms of transportation. As a child his parents had wanted him to be a musician, he had a knack for singing and had taken up to learning how to play the horn as a hobby of sorts. He was always an unruly child though and didn't much like the idea of just singing or playing the horn for a living completely, he wanted more out of life and always sought out adventure no matter how much trouble he got into.

He'd often see one person doing one thing and immediately want to try out said thing, no matter what it was he had to try it at least once and try to pursue it as a career if he could. Eventually, by the time he reached the age of 18 he got mixed up in some trouble, he had become the apprentice for a moonshiner, who had apparently sold phony liquor to Beverly Swanson and her crew.

Needless to say, Gustav was sent to kill the moonshiner only and he did so, Clarence having witnessed this felt no remorse but admired the work that the silver fox had done. It was then he decided that he had to get into the same business; he followed him back to where The Silver Spoon was and babbled on about how cool that was. As a joke Winslow and Beverly had decided to appoint him as Gustav's apprentice, that joke, however, turned into reality and it became a legitimate thing. They worried about not having another enforcer like Gustav, and who better to learn from than the Prince of Death himself.

So he unwillingly took Clarence under his wing and continues to try and teach him everything he knows while sending him out for errands.

Personality: Clarence is fascinated easily and doesn't appear to care much for his own safety or others shown in the constant pursuit of his newfound career. He's rather reckless despite his efforts to try and copy everything Gustav does leading a few others to believe that he might legitimately be insane to an extent.

Gustav deems him as a pushover considering he's the easiest person to influence and corrupt, he doesn't ask any questions just decides something is cool or will just take whatever orders from someone he looks up to. But despite his copycat nature he seems to have deep desires to also do his own thing, which he's got into the habit of practicing presumably because he appears to grow a bit self-aware with age and looks down on his constant need to copy his mentor.

Other: Clarence gained the nickname “Copycat” from constantly trying to walk and talk like his mentor, while he was impartial to the nickname at first he adopted it and accepted that everyone only knew him as that from his friends consistently calling him that.

Re: Untitled: The Game (Campfire)

on Sat Jul 14, 2018 12:04 am
Name: Frederick (Freddy) Andersson

Age: 37-years-old

Species: Chameleon

Gender: Male

History: When Frederick was a child his mother was murdered, his father had been at work and he was at school at the time leaving the two of them distraught and confused when they arrived home to see their apartment building surrounded in crime tape and police officers who were trying to keep the public out of the way along with evacuating other tenants. He and his father moved to a different apartment not long after the murder, wanting to allow detectives to have some space in investigating the crime scene.

There have been no breaks in the case, as the investigation continued to go on leaving Frederick angry with the authorities for not being able to catch his mothers killer. As he grew into a teenager he became obsessed with trying to solve the case on his own, taking drastic measures such as sneaking into the old apartment of his own accord or breaking into the police department and looking at the files for himself to study whatever clues have been found. He's been arrested before, but luckily the detective who had caught him in his actions admired his initiative and suggested he join the force; the chameleon accepted and some strings were pulled so he can get in.

It wasn't long before he became an officer of the law, solving smaller crimes and dealing with petty ones but his extensive record was enough to get him promoted in a few years to being a certified detective. He hasn't been able to solve the mysterious murder of his mother, but he has taken an interest in trying to catch the Roxlow Killer hoping to bring justice and possibly prevent any more grief for the citizens of Roxlow.

Personality: Freddy is the curious and skeptical type, he's always looking for answers and always questioning everything he hears that comes out of others peoples mouths. He believes there's a motive for everyone actions and that there's a reason for everything that happens, leading him to rely on his gut instinct the majority of the time when no evidence seems apparent in particular situations.

Frederick can be quite obsessive, leading others to believe that he is truly married to his job. For the most part, they are right about him, he genuinely believes that there's no time for any nonsense in his line of business and will work day and night if he has to in order to feel like he's getting somewhere with a case. To an outsider who hasn't met him personally, they would tell you he's quite the serious and cold character and prefers to generally work alone but this is far from the truth. He can be quite the serious gentleman but he alters his personality to best suit his work, meaning he will work with anything and everyone so long as it benefits his cause. He is tenacious, to say the least, but as far as how he is around others he can be harsh and charming, sentimental yet unfeeling, menacing and romantic; all at the same time.

For argument's sake, he is a walking paradox, and he doesn't seem to mind having a rather confusing character. The downsides of his personality serve no real purpose for him but the upsides of the way he acts help him to get what he wants out of people so long as he knows how to play his cards right when he's around them.

Re: Untitled: The Game (Campfire)

on Sat Jul 14, 2018 12:04 am
Name: Romeo Cervino

Age: 19-years-old

Species: Wolf

Gender: Male

History: Being the baby of Don Vittorio, Romeo has always lived in his brother's shadow. Usually looking up to him, but also envying him for the attention he gets from the rest of the gang and their father.

He's been told that he will soon be groomed to perhaps one day take over if something happens to Giovanni when he becomes the leader and perhaps he's gotten too over excited in the past, causing him to make some reckless mistakes when doing business.

Personality: As his first name would suggest, Romeo is something of a hopeless romantic let alone a dreamer. A bit unusual for a mobster, but he doesn't like limiting himself to only thinking of what goes on within the family business; it's a concern of his but there's always time for a bit of daydreaming as he would say.

Of course, that's not to say that he isn't without his bad side or serious side for that matter, as he's proven to be quite ruthless at times to those who seem to get in his way when he is set on doing something. His temper is quite uncontrollable when it rises, and becomes especially dangerous when weapons are involved, leaving him to lash out aggressively when he gets his hands on one. Romeo isn't really a fan of hand to hand combat, believing that it will only get to be a bit too messy for his taste, his belief in that leads people to believe that he is somewhat of your typical “pretty boy” neat freak, he has no real argument against those claims.

Re: Untitled: The Game (Campfire)

on Sat Jul 14, 2018 12:04 am
Name: Fèlice Monette

Age: 20-years-old

Species: Chartreux (cat)

Gender: Female

History: Fèlice started out as an immigrant from France, little is known about her time there; what she was doing and why she left but that didn't seem to matter too much. The feline arrived in America when she was only 16, she knew very little English and struggled to find work, causing her to constantly move from place to place. Eventually, she had decided to settle down in one place, meeting April who had been looking for a roommate for a while and talked her newfound friend into accepting.

April gave her English lessons and had managed to get her hired on at The Silver Spoon when she discovered that Fèlice had a real knack for cooking and baking. Even though Beverly had already hired on a baker to assist April with the Bakery facade of the speakeasy she thought it would be handy to have someone else who not only knew how to bake but knew how to make other dishes for her guests as well.

Personality: Honestly, never afraid to get her hands dirty, to put it bluntly. As a chef that is to be expected, and she takes everything her job has to offer to heart; in the kitchen, while she likes to try to stay organized and tidy she's fine with making a few messes here and there but she is strict with others when it comes to mistakes or disturbing her work. Because of her stern attitude in the kitchen, she has quite the reputation for being extremely moody and snippy with those around her, but the moment she steps out she is quite the opposite. Typically relaxed and happy, but somewhat pushy when it comes to others trying whatever meal she has whipped up for them.

But despite her drastic mood changes that come from her choice of environments she is a good person to have around; reliable, persistent, positive, and intuitive she is always someone you can count on to pull through difficult situations as well as give you the complete and honest truth of what she thinks.

Name: (Don) Vittorio Cervino

Age: 55-years-old

Species: Wolf

History: N/A

Personality: Being the mob boss of the Cervinos Vittorio means all business, he takes no nonsense and he will not stand for late payments or failure. He has been known to quickly give orders to kill when someone does something even remotely wrong, making second chances very hard to come by when it comes to doing business with him.

He might be harsh but he does care for his mafia crime family, giving them good pay and when one of them dies by the hands of someone else you can bet he will have his best men track down whoever that specific member's killer was.

Re: Untitled: The Game (Campfire)

on Sat Jul 14, 2018 12:05 am
Name: Lazarus

Age: 49-years-old

Species: Doberman (dog)

Gender: Male

History: Little is known about Lazarus, even his first and last name but what is known that before he became a bartender is that he was already working for the Cervino family as one of their many enforcers. He was tough and mean, making him the perfect candidate for that job, and during his early times doing that he got caught in a shootout, the wounds he acquired were fatal but he lived through him earning him the name “Lazarus” by everyone who knew him at the time.

Before prohibition had started the don of the Cervino Family discovered that he had a real knack for making cocktails and on top of being more friendly than most enforcers it seemed that he would make an ideal bartender. When Ms. Swanson first paid to get her speakeasy and bootlegging business started he was appointed to be her bartender and has been ever since.

Personality: Lazarus' personality seems to be all over the place, one minute he's cold and harsh the next he is quite the people person and is looking for a nice chat. But it could all depend on who he's talking to.

Still, though he is the very definition of all brawn and no brains, he relies on his knowledge for serving drinks and his strength solely truly believing that those two qualities are all he needs to get by in life. Of course, this leads to people into insulting his intelligence without him even knowing they are saying something cruel to him.

Re: Untitled: The Game (Campfire)

on Sat Jul 14, 2018 12:05 am
Name: Constantine Lancaster

Age: 31-years-old

Species: Irish Setter (dog)

Gender: Male

Occupation: Pianist

Quote: “That's funny, I've never considered myself the sentimental type but for you, I guess I'd settle for being anything.”

Hobbies: Playing the piano, occasional singing (though not very typical of him), drinking

History: Constantine doesn't have very much of a history, or rather he doesn't have very much to tell as far as he's concerned. He grew up in—what he believes would be—a normal household; his parents weren't exactly there half of the time, his father mainly out on business trips and his mother attending parties with her friends, leaving him in the care of his elderly babysitter. While he can't remember his babysitter's name, a lot of his most fond memories involve spending time with her, as a matter of fact, she was the reason that he had gotten into playing the piano in the first place.

He would delight in hearing the melodic songs that she would play on their own grand piano and grew fascinated with how she was able to memorize the music and even play it in different styles. Taking notice of his interest, she began to teach him, posing as a rather strict teacher but someone who had complete faith in him. But, while he loved her company and the time he spent with her learning each and every key there was still an emptiness where a parents love should have been; he was often lonely and seen as antisocial by most outsiders, warranting his babysitter to also add on some lessons in socializing to his music lessons.

Needless to say, all her efforts paid off, even if he was still a rather lonely child he grew to be charismatic in a way and his newfound talent as a musician was enough to give him the extra confidence. By the age 22 he had decided to move out and start a life of his own, moving to Roxlow shortly and playing in many different places; none of those venues paid much and not knowing a whole lot of people added on to his struggles, it was then that he had stumbled across The Silver Spoon. It had just started and wasn't exactly too well organized yet, so getting in was easy, but this is where his alcoholism had began, at the same time as his career there.

He had gotten intoxicated one night, which shockingly didn't effect his ability to play piano, and had stumbled onto the stage where the original band had once played—at the time they had taken a break—he then proceeded to play the piano that they had there and this caught the attention of Beverly. She had been looking for new band members, and hearing Constantine play that night she knew it must have been fate that brought him to her speakeasy then. When he was through with his “escapade” she approached him with the job offer and offered him a handsome wage at that. Enthusiastically he took the job.

Personality: Despite him and his babysitter's best efforts, Constantine still has a habit of coming off rather antisocial but charmingly so. He is sentimental—even if he denies it—and quietly charismatic, always keeping cool and knowing what to say and when to say it if a situation should call for it, finding his happiness in inspiring others and making them feel flattered or wanted in some way, as well as seeking a soothing refuge in his music and hoping his audience does too.

His desires seem to be deep, but he doesn't worry about them a whole lot and would rather spend his time worrying about others and trying his best not to draw any unnecessary attention to himself when he isn't displaying his talent. Though he craves that attention, and still feels that empty loneliness that has stayed with him as a child he prefers dealing with those issues himself and “fixing” them by focusing charming those around him or simply by drinking himself into a  numb state.

However, his quiet and charming nature is also somewhat of his downfall; he's never really taken too serious or is seen as a genuine person by most strangers who only seem to peg him as flirtatious and selfish. Considering his compliments and overall speech just a tactic to get things out of people, because people think this way of him he's never willing to open up to anyone even if they have been considered a good friend, as he believes that it would only lead to further speculation that his acts are selfish and he would simply be using his issues to have others pity him.

Re: Untitled: The Game (Campfire)

on Sat Jul 14, 2018 12:06 am
Name: Juliette

Age: 21-years-old

Gender: Female

Species: Cat (Russian Blue)

History: Juliette was born into a poor family, they barely made a living and there hardly wasn't any food on the table for all of them. She was often pushed into the background, having a large family that can't sustain itself is one thing but being born the middle child in that family she was usually the one who got the dirty end of the stick. Juliette was often ignored and she was the one who always had the least to it, it had gotten to the point where the young feline had to attempt to make money in different ways in order to get enough money to buy a loaf of bread for herself.

Begging for money became the norm for her, and whatever money she had left over from buying herself some food she saved up to get herself clean looking clothes. But as they say, things eventually change, and when she turned sixteen it seemed that they changed for the better; it wasn't long before she had met a nice gentleman, he was well-groomed and incredibly charming, and what else is there to be said other than the two hit off immediately. As they gradually built up their relationship, she discovered that he inherited a large sum of money from his father, who happened to be the richest man alive in their city.

Skipping ahead a few years the two of them had married and Juliette was treated like a princess by her husband, yet all good things must come to an end. Juliette lost her husband in a plane crash while he was flying out for a business trip, she was devastated, to say the least, and while he left all the money to her it didn't seem to change the fact he was gone. She continues to live on, however, and slowly but surely is learning to cope with not having him by her side anymore.

Personality: On the surface, Juliette has a rather snobbish personality, but it's more of a facade than anything just so she can blend in with the rest of the rich crowd. She knows she shouldn't be putting up a false front but the gray feline really can't help it; she fears to be an outcast again and will do anything to prevent herself from being pushed back into the background by her friends and in-laws.

Her interior, on the other hand, is quite the opposite of all the other high society beings in her city, she is deeply empathetic—almost hypersensitive at times—to those who would be considered lesser than her which causes her to try and help them out in secret. She likes to hold on to the memories of being poor, in order to keep this side of her and to remember how it truly feels like to have nothing in this world.

She continues to mourn over her husband, but feels that one day she might be ready to move on if she should ever find someone; but that's easier said than done, she's extraordinarily picky or at least it would seem that way. Juliette just simply wants someone just like her ex-husband, and if she can't find that then she prefers being alone.

Other: She might night be used to the high society yet, but one thing she enjoys doing is mingling with others and listening to what they have to say. On top of that, she has developed quite the taste for champagne and fine wines, considering herself as sort of connoisseur in that field.
