Feline Kingdom Empty Feline Kingdom

In a large forest full of old ruins resides a mass of organized feral cats who found shelter in each of the four ruins scattered throughout the land, here they have created their own separate societies where each cat has a place; whether it is to fight, hunt, lead, advise, heal, teach, these cats rely on each other for leadership, survival and knowledge and would not have it any other way.

There are four kingdoms that rest in this forest of old ruins. Erstwhile, Sassoon, Eskium and Farenvale. Which kingdom do you belong to?

Ranks:

Higher-class
King: the ruler of the kingdom typically makes decisions and solves civil issues that arise amongst his citizens

Queen: the mate of the king and the secondary ruler unless the king dies she will retire if she has had a litter of kits old enough to take the place as main ruler. The queen may also retire if her mate chooses to retire as well

Prince/Princess: the oldest of their siblings, first in line for the throne and will take over immediately if the king or queen should die or retire. They are normally expected to pick a mate of royal blood but there is an exception if a cat of higher-class has not reproduced with a mate (excludes High Priests/High Priestess, and nobles) or if there is not an available higher-class cat from a neighboring kingdom with a current alliance to the Prince or Princess’ kingdom

Nobles: the youngest children of the king and queen, usually next in line for the throne if their older sibling has taken the place of the king or queen

Advisor(s): the advisor or advisors are the king’s or queen’s right hand, if they should need a second opinion on something these cats will give them advice on what should or shouldn’t be done. They also inform the king or queen of any arising problems both inside and outside the kingdom, as well as making small decisions

Royal guards: these cats stay in the main ruins along with the rest of the higher-class citizens to serve and protect the king, queen, their advisor(s), the nobles, and the prince or princess

High Priest/High Priestess: residing in the temple ruins they are expected to be able to communicate with the Divines and receive messages from them, at some points the king or queen may call upon them to assist with decisions if the advisor is away or if they need any divine intervention. To be able to continue to focus their spiritual connection the High Priest or High Priestess must refrain from any activities outside of their duties. They are forbidden to hunt, reproduce, kill, and fight

Military-class

Commanding Officer: the leader of the kingdom’s military, gives and finalizes orders. Usually stays in the barracks ruins unless a battle should arise he or she will normally be leading the troops

Lieutenants: second in command of the military, able to give smaller orders but is capable of giving larger ones as long as the Commanding Officer finalizes it. The lieutenants typically lead patrols and set up small camps outside of the kingdom to keep watch and give out orders to the troops they choose to go with them if word of a long-term threat outside spreads throughout the civilization

Veterans: any senior members of the military, if the lieutenant should die or retire the Commanding Officer will choose a veteran to take his or her place

Infantry: normal troops of the military, generally participate in patrols and some are chosen to accompany a lieutenant to any camp outside of the kingdom. The ones left behind are used to guard the kingdom in case a threat makes it way past any patrols. Some might be currently training a recruit

Recruits: any younger military troop that is still going through training

Scouts: members of the military that normally travel outside of the kingdom to report any threats to the Commanding Officer, sometimes some of them might be chosen to accompany hunters in case they need protection

Mid-class

Note: Mid-class cats reside in the other areas of the ruins, this however excludes any mid-class cats involved in religion they will reside in the temple ruins with the High Priest or Priestess as well as excludes Scholars, whom reside in the library ruins, and healers who reside in the infirmary ruins

Hunters: cats that are usually lean with longer legs than normal but this does not always have to be the case; their only purpose is to hunt so they do not receive any battle training. They have been trained by retired hunters whom have taken their place as a scholar

Scholars: usually the record keepers, these cats are the most intelligent of the society; they can either be students who have chosen to become a scholar, an older and wiser cat or a retired hunter. Their duties are to pass on knowledge to younger cats known as students, and keep track of historical events; their teachings consist of hunting, religion, medicine, and history

Students: Kits who are old enough to eat on their own as well as speak and are capable of being without their mother

Priests/Priestess’: strict followers of the religion in this society, one of them will be chosen to become a High Priest or Priestess when the current one retires

Monks: students who have decided to pursue religion rather than become a hunter, healer or scholar

Healers: cats more educated in the knowledge of medicine, they treat sick and wounded cats and may occasionally be called out of the kingdom if a military member or hunter is wounded outside of it

Messengers: these cats do not need any training; their only duty is to carry out messages to other kingdoms or cats that need to travel outside of their own (i.e. military-class members or healers that have been called out)

Low-class

Kits: kittens who are still too young to become students

Elders: older cats that have retired from their place in the kingdom, this also includes retired kings and queens

Nurses: any female cat currently nursing and raising kits

Divines:

These are the gods the cats believe in.

Orion: the God of war, the only one of the divines that was once a mortal but through his heroic deeds was accepted into the court of the divines

Reina: the Goddess of light

Tidos: the God of strength, brother of Erdos

Erdos: the God of speed

Larenell: the Goddess of love and beauty

Sarus: the God of the hunt
