Pokemon: Fall of a Kingdom Empty Pokemon: Fall of a Kingdom

In the kingdom of Rosetide, Gijinka have been able to live peaceful lives for dozens of years, kept out of war with the neighboring kingdoms of Bellton and Watford and staying relatively prosperous as well. Indeed, King Caius has been a good one, capable of not only maintaining the kingdom but also keeping its people happy. Rumors even say that he is in touch with Landorus, the spirit Gijinka whose blessing means a good harvest. Or... was, anyways. Four years ago, the king was assassinated by an unknown person and his brother, Finn, who is also a Gyarados Gijinka, stepped up to the throne. Almost immediately, the kingdom changed. The climate grew colder, crops stopped growing as well, and Finn began imposing strict rules upon the subjects: entire areas of the kingdom in which any but the highest officers of the army are banned, enforced curfews against leaving home at night, and taxes on crops grown by the people. Crime, something that had always been existent but never has been a problem, is beginning to rise again, and there are hushed whispers of a rebel group known as the Black Roses - whispers that are punished severely if they are overheard by a guard.

You have been living under this new rule as well as you can, but one day an anonymous letter appears at your doorstep. Inside: nothing more than a crudely inked picture of a rose, with a date and the name of a familiar inn scribbled underneath. What happens next is up to you.

Brief world description for the purposes of history: The world is inhabited entirely by Gijinkas (no humans or pokemon), and there are three main kingdoms: Rosetide, Bellton, and Watford. It's a medieval fantasy type of setting, and magic is rare. If your character does have magic, try to have it be related to the Pokemon - whether directly type-based, like a Charizard using fire magic, or more loosely based around the Pokedex entry, like a Luxray being able to see people's outlines through walls. Try to keep it from being overpowered, though. Let me know if you have any other questions while building your character!
